Malbec: the emblematic variety of Cahors

Malbec, the king grape of the Cahors AOP, is a noble variety renowned for its intense notes of black fruits, plum, and blackcurrant, often accompanied by spicy and mineral touches. On the nose, it captivates with its aromatic power and complexity, while remaining elegant and balanced. On the palate, it is generous and structured, with generally well-defined tannins, although it can also be vinified in a softer style. 

Grown on the limestone hillsides and plateaus of the Lot, it fully expresses the soils of the AOC and makes each bottle a unique tasting experience.

Thus, as soon as a bottle of Château Les Croisille is opened, the nose reveals complex and enticing notes: ripe black fruits, sweet spices, and mineral notes typical of limestone. On the palate, you will experience a beautiful depth and a harmonious texture, with vibrant fruitiness and a persistent finish that invites you to prolong the tasting. 

Château Les Croisille: a superb family estate

Located on the limestone plateaus of the commune of Luzech, in the northwest of the Cahors AOP, the lands of Château Les Croisille are particularly limestone-rich, with some plots also marked by the presence of iron in the soils. These soils give the wines a mineral tension as well as a beautiful structure.

The estate produces red wines ranging from the pure pleasure cuvée (Le Croizillon, Cocoricot), to terroir wines (Silice, Calcaire), as well as great age-worthy wines (La Pierre, Divin, Le Grain). Two white wines are also produced (Chardonnay and Sauvignon) as Vin de France.

The dedicated work of Château Les Croisille perfectly illustrates the stylistic renewal of the appellation. The estate’s bottles are recognized and appreciated for their freshness, superb balance, and excellent aging potential for the terroir wines. 

Thanks to organic farming, gentle vinification processes, and constant attention in the vineyard, the estate produces authentic, deep, and sincere red wines that are sure to surprise you!
