The estate : The Chavy are a renowned family of winemakers from Puligny-Montrachet.In 1997, brothers Alain and Jean-Louis took over their father Gérard Chavy's estate. In 2003, they decided to create two distinct vineyards and thus divided the family operation equally.  Today, Alain oversees 10 hectares of vines, mostly in the AOC Puligny-Montrachet, where he has numerous 1^er cru plots as well as a few rows of vines in the legendary Grand Cru Chevalier-Montrachet. The harvest is manual, the clay-limestone terroir, and the wine aging generally lasts 1 year in barrels before being completed by 6 months in tank to unify the whole. The cuvées are all of an excellent level and the finesse as well as the minerality are the common markers of Alain Chavy's wines.
