The wine : La Pierre is a superb Cahors full of concentration and finesse crafted by the Croisille family. The aging of this great wine was carried out for 10 months in a limestone vat from the region’s terroir, custom-made by a local artisan ! Energy and minerality thus emerge from this unique bottle, which develops on the palate with a velvety texture, accompanied by a very charming fruitiness (black cherry, strawberry, blackberry) as well as a hint of graphite. A great terroir wine already perfectly accessible but also capable of  improving with age!

The estate : In 1979, Bernard and Cécile Croisille arrived in the commune of Luzech, very close to Cahors, with no technical background but with a burning passion for the land and a life project. After difficult first years of planting and clearing their 7 hectares, the first harvest finally arrived in 1984. Initially involved in the cooperative system, the couple decided 10 years later to vinify their own cuvées. In 2000, a brand new winery was built and things accelerated when Germain, their second son, joined the estate. Then, Nicolas, Germain’s childhood friend, also joined the business in 2012. In 2013, the estate was officially converted to organic farming and in 2015 it was finally the turn of Simon, the youngest of the Croisille siblings, to join the family adventure in 2015. In recent years, the wines have continued to gain in precision and the Croisille family now has around thirty hectares, allowing them to offer a fine range of wines from easy-drinking cuvées to complex and refined Cahors.
