The wine : Château Sainte-Marguerite’s Fantastique Rouge reveals an intense, refined side of Provence. This blend of Syrah and Grenache offers generous black cherry, blackberry, plum and blackcurrant flavours, enriched by two years of barrel ageing. Vanilla and cinnamon mingle with cocoa, liquorice and subtle hints of coconut and roasted coffee, gradually revealing a layered aromatic profile. On the palate, supple tannins and a velvety texture lend this richness a beautifully smooth feel. The flavours linger through an exceptionally long finish. Already delicious, this fine Provençal red will also develop over a decade or more under good cellaring conditions. A wine of real character that leaves a lasting impression!

The estate : The Fayard family bought the Château Sainte-Marguerite on a whim in 1977: the quality of the plant material, the Mediterranean climate as well as the soils mainly composed of weathered clay and schist were a real favorite for Jean-Pierre Fayard and his wife. At the time, with only 11 hectares, this superb Provençal estate now consists of a heritage of 75 hectares of vines. This Cru Classé of Provence has since come a long way and has great ambitions. The completion in March 2020 of a superb brand new winery is further proof of this. Certified Organic and Vegan, the estate offers a magnificent high-level range that does honor to Provence: rosés but also reds and whites live up to the ambitions set by the family.
