Keywords : Indulgent / Creamy / Malty
The spirit : Classified in the Single Grain Whiskies category due to its production process using "Coffey" stills typical of the style, this whisky Japanese could, however, be presented as a Single Malt given its composition of 100% malted barley as well as its distillation within the single distillery Miyagikyo. Ultimately, regardless of the type, what truly matters here is the brilliant complexity of this Coffey Malt. Its very indulgent aromatic profile instantly transports us to praline and milk chocolate notes as well as fruity aromas of orange zest, pear, or even mirabelle plum. A creamy texture develops on the palate for the delight of all whisky enthusiasts. An absolute must-have for your collection!

The brand : Born in 1894 into a family of sake producers, Masataka Taketsuru is now considered the father of whisky Japanese. After training as a chemist, he was hired by the Settsu Shuzo company, which sent him to Scotland in 1918 for an apprenticeship. Masataka then developed a passion for whisky and decided to dedicate his life to it. In 1934, he built Yoichi, his first distillery, on the island of Hokkaido. His growing success enabled him to establish a second one in 1969 near Sendai: Miyagikyo. It is from the single malts of these two distilleries that the Nikka group now offers its splendid and renowned range of Japanese whiskies.
