The wine : Bordering the Grand Cru Chapelle-Chambertin, the Premier Cru "Petite Chapelle" is among the very best terroirs of the Gevrey appellation. The Marchand-Grillot family plot was planted there in 1978 and produces a wine of masterful complexity. Delicious fruity aromas (raspberry, cherry, strawberry, redcurrant) emerge during tasting and blend here with spicy notes (licorice, pepper). A touch of leather and undergrowth will also appear after a few years of aging. The tannins of this cuvée are particularly silky and its texture is remarkably smooth. A magnificent wine that can be enjoyed in its youth but will reveal even more flair as the years go by!

The estate : If both the Marchand and Grillot families had a long winemaking tradition before 1950, it was during this vintage and through a marriage that their strengths were definitively united to form the Marchand-Grillot estate.Today, siblings Étienne and Marion, together with their father Jacques, oversee a 12-hectare vineyard located mainly in Gevrey-Chambertin, but also in Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny. The family philosophy is characterized by bio-based viticulture, limiting intervention both in the vineyard and in the winery. No synthetic pesticides or herbicides are used, and the quantities of added sulfites are very moderate. The winemaking process is also very gentle, bringing out the full potential of each terroir. Finesse and elegance are the key words here!
