Syrah

Find on this page all the wines made entirely or partly from the grape variety Syrah. Originally from the Rhône Valley, it is still within this region today (particularly the northern part) that it expresses itself with the most grace and refinement. Thus, the red wines from the appellations Côte Rôtie, Saint-Joseph, Hermitage or Crozes-Hermitage are made exclusively from this grape variety. Furthermore, Syrah is also present in the southern part of the Rhône Valley (Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Cornas etc.), although it rarely plays a leading role there. This variety is also found in Provence as well as in Languedoc-Roussillon, where it is often used in the blending of rosé wines and enables the creation of red wines with a warm profile. Internationally, Syrah is very prominent in Australia (Shiraz) and California. Its very appealing aromas of cherry, violet, and pepper as well as its superb velvety texture make it an undeniable success story, pleasing both newcomers and seasoned enthusiasts.
