The wine : With the cuvées La Tourtine and Cabassaou, La Migoua is one of the most beautiful single-vineyard wines of Domaine Tempier, but also one of the greatest wines of the Bandol appellation. The terroir of this majestic cuvée extends over 11 hectares and is located on the Beausset-Vieux massif, at nearly 300m altitude. Here, nature is wild and the garrigue surrounds the vines.
If the strength of Mourvèdre and its great tannic structure are obviously felt during tasting, the freshness of Cinsault and the delicious aromatics of Syrah give this cuvée a lovely digestible character. The aromatics evolve towards ripe dark fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry, plum), powerful spicy notes (clove, pepper, garrigue) as well as a floral touch (violet, rose). A wild character echoing the surrounding nature is also present.
Already incredible in its youth, only a long aging will reveal the full potential of this great Provençal wine! Pairings with red meats and game are highly recommended!

The estate : Iconic property of Provence, the Domaine Tempier is one of the pioneers who enabled the creation of the Bandol appellation in 1941. The Peyraud family and Daniel Ravier, the estate's director, get the best out of their 60 hectares, composed of Mourvèdre (over 40 hectares) but also Grenache noir, Cinsault, Carignan, and Syrah. The 5 hectares of white are divided between Clairette (65%), Ugni blanc, Bourboulenc, Marsanne, and Rolle. The estate has an exceptional heritage of very old vines, notably allowing the production of three iconic cuvées: La Migoua, La Tourtine, and Cabassaou. Red wines, but also rosés and whites, are of impressively consistent quality and deserve the full attention of enthusiasts.
