The estate: Since 1990, Daniel and Florence Cathiard have run this absolute reference in Pessac- Léognan which is the Château Smith Haut Lafitte. And what a journey! If today the wines of the property are among the very best in the region, the vines were nevertheless almost abandoned at the time of the purchase by the couple! Having detected the fantastic potential of this gravel terroir, the Cathiards have indeed succeeded in radically transforming the property. Today, the vineyard has 80 hectares (68 in red and 12 in white), officially certified organic since the 2019 vintage and enabling the production of wines of absolutely grandiose finesse and complexity.
