The wine : Iconic property of Saint-Julien with superb consistent quality, Château Gruaud Larose here offers us, with its Sarget cuvée, a second wine of very fine craftsmanship. Ready to drink and from a very great vintage, a dense body of dark fruits dances around elegant oak and structured yet already well-polished tannins. A beautiful floral imprint also marks this cuvée, giving a lovely complexity to the whole.A real treat, typical of Saint-Julien!

The estate : Since its creation in 1725, 4 families have succeeded one another at the head of the Château Gruaud-Larose : the Gruaud & Larose, the Balguerie & Sarget, the Cordier siblings as well as the Merlaut family (Taillan group) who are still today at the head of the estate classified as 2nd Grand Cru. Located in the southern part of the Saint-Julien AOC, the estate has a very well-situated terroir of 82 hectares on a plateau of deep gravel. The Merlaut family promotes wines with a more approachable and indulgent profile than in the past, highlighting the fruit to make the cuvées more accessible in their youth while preserving their long aging potential. An iconic property of Saint-Julien with impeccable and consistent quality.
