IGT Salento
Located in the south of Puglia (the heel of the Italian boot), the Salento PGI covers the provinces of Brindisi, Lecce, and Taranto. Spanning over 11,000 hectares, the Protected Geographical Indication mainly produces red wines that are colorful, fruity, and powerful. The most common grape varieties here are Negroamaro and Primitivo, but many other varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, or even Aglianico can also be used. White wines, rosés, and even sweet wines can also be produced within this magnificent area, framed by the sea and benefiting from a particularly sunny Mediterranean climate.
