The wine : The cuvée '27 was created in 2017 to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Bodegas Protos. Initially conceived as a limited edition, it was so successful that the estate decided to continue its production. Here is therefore a powerful vintage from Ribera del Duero, highlighting the old vines of the vineyard located on the finest terroirs of the appellation. One delights in its notes of ripe black fruits (cherry, plum), its spices (pepper, cinnamon), its generous oakiness (vanilla, coconut, clove) and its endless length. Already accessible, this gem is nevertheless crafted for aging and can be kept for 15 years or more. A magnificent Spanish red wine to pair with red meats.

The estate : Protos is a major historical entity in Spanish winemaking.Created in 1927 under the name "Ribera del Duero" (at a time when the appellation did not yet exist), the company is the result of the union of 11 Spanish winegrowers wishing to reveal to the world the quality of their terroirs.  In 1982, when the DO Ribera del Duero was founded, the estate then gave it its name and changed its own to "Protos", meaning "First" in Greek. Today, the estate covers 1,400 hectares and the brand is exported all over the world. Its generous and authentic vintages are recognized and praised by enthusiasts and professionals.
