The wine : The '27 cuvée was created in 2017 to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Bodegas Protos. Initially conceived as a limited edition, it was so successful that the estate decided to continue its production. Here is therefore a powerful vintage from Ribera del Duero, showcasing the old vines of the vineyard located on the finest terroirs of the appellation. One delights in its ripe fruits (cherry, plum), its spices (pepper, cinnamon), its generous and indulgent oakiness (vanilla, coconut, clove), and its endless length. Already accessible, this gem is nevertheless built for aging and can be kept for 15 years or more!

The estate :  Protos is a major historical entity in Spanish winemaking. Founded in 1927 under the name "Ribera del Duero" (at a time when the appellation did not yet exist), the company is the result of the union of 11 Spanish winegrowers wishing to reveal to the world the quality of their terroirs.  In 1982, when the DO Ribera del Duero was established, the estate then gave it its name and changed its own to  "Protos", meaning "First" in Greek. Today, the estate covers 1,400 hectares and the brand is exported all over the world. Its generous and authentic wines are recognized and acclaimed by enthusiasts and professionals.
