The spirit: "Tailored" is the High-end Blended Malt Whiskey from Nikka. Assembled with precision and delicacy, this exceptional Japanese spirit is mainly composed of barley malt from the group's two distilleries (Yoichi and Miyagikyo) as well as grain whiskey. The result is a perfect symbol of balance, roundness and softness. Its nose evolves resolutely towards a fruity universe (apple, apricot, peach) as well as notes of honey and cocoa. The brand: Born in 1894 within a family of sake producers, Masataka Taketsuru is today considered the father of Japanese whiskey. After training as a chemist, he was hired by the Settsu Shuzo company which sent him to Scotland in 1918 to complete his apprenticeship. Masataka then developed a passion for whiskey and decided to dedicate his life to it. In 1934, he built Yoichi, his first distillery, on the island of Hokkaido. His growing success allowed him to establish a second one in 1969 near Sendai: Miyagikyo. It is from the single malts of these two distilleries that the group Nikka today offers all of its splendid and renowned range of Japanese whiskeys.
