AOC Sancerre

The Sancerre AOC is one of the best-known appellations of the Loire and of France. Spread over more than 3,000 hectares exclusively planted with the grape varieties Sauvignon (85% of the vineyard) and Pinot Noir (15%), the vineyard extends across 14 communes.  A small proportion of rosé wines (6%) is also produced. Three terroirs coexist here: the terres blanches (clay-limestone soils to the west of the vineyard), caillottes (chalky and limestone soils located in the center), as well as the clay-siliceous soils, a mix of flint, clay, and siliceous conglomerates found further east along the Loire. The Bernard Fleuriet estate has vines on these three types of soils and offers cuvées of superb quality, expressing the quintessence of these grape varieties within the Loire region.
