Gros Manseng
Mainly grown in the South-West of France, Gros Manseng is renowned for its ability to produce both dry white wines as well as off-dry and sweet wines. The latter are generally distinguished by a fruity, seductive, and expressive bouquet evoking delightful exotic aromas (mango, pineapple, lychee), white-fleshed fruits (peach, apricot), as well as white flowers. Appellations such as Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh, Jurançon, Irouléguy, and also IGP Côtes-de-Gascogne and Landes are fine examples of what this variety has to offer at its best.Gros Manseng is often blended here with Petit Manseng or even Sauvignon, Colombard, and Ugni Blanc, with the characteristics of the latter perfectly complementing the qualities of the former.
