Purchase wines DO Ribera del Duero

The DO Ribera del Duero is one of the most famous wine regions in Spain along with the DOCa Rioja. Spanning over 25,000 hectares located between 720 and 1000m altitude, it is rooted inland, about 180km north of Madrid. Its climate is very continental and Mediterranean, characterized by very high temperatures (especially in summer) and cold, harsh winters. The precipitation is very low here, around 400 to 500mm per year. The vineyard soils are clay-limestone and stony, allowing the local star grape variety, Tempranillo (90% of the plantings), to thrive fully.This can be assembled with other minor varieties (maximum 25%) such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, or even Grenache Rouge.
