Domaine Pascal et Nicolas Reverdy

Located in Maimbray, a small village northwest of Sancerre, the Pascal and Nicolas Reverdy estate is a vineyard of 17 hectares (12 of Sauvignon and 5 of Pinot Noir), mostly planted on a clay-limestone terroir here called "terres blanches". Since 1985, the estate has been managed by Pascal Reverdy, who was joined by his brother Nicolas in 1993. Following the unfortunate passing of the latter in 2007, his wife, Sophie, joined the estate. Today, Victorien and Benjamin, Pascal's sons, are also part of the adventure. The Sancerre wines produced by the Reverdy family all possess a wonderful character as well as true aromatic elegance. A must-know estate in the region!

An exceptional terroir in the heart of the Loire Valley

The Domaine Pascal and Nicolas Reverdy flourishes in the heart of the Loire Valley, on one of its most beautiful terroirs: the Sancerre appellation. Renowned for its exceptional white wines made from Sauvignon as well as its reds made from Pinot noir, this wine region offers an ideal natural balance for the vine, between cool climate and clay-limestone soils. The estate is mainly based on white earth soils, giving the wines a crystalline freshness, a refined minerality, and a beautiful tension on the palate.
Soil management, precise vinification, and respect for the fruit all contribute to revealing cuvées of great finesse, true to the Sancerre identity. Each bottle signed Pascal and Nicolas Reverdy is the reflection of a constant commitment to excellence, combining tradition, precision, and a passion for wine.

The wines of Domaine Pascal & Nicolas Reverdy

Choosing a wine from Domaine Pascal and Nicolas Reverdy means opting for an authentic experience rooted in a strong family tradition and an exceptional terroir.

The range consists of six wines. First, the Sancerre Terres de Maimbray cuvées are available in three colors: white, red, and rosé. The very identity of the estate is revealed through these precise, fresh, and delicate wines, always with length and substance on the palate.

Then come the single-vineyard cuvées.La Grande Rue is a superb Sauvignon from a Portlandian limestone plot located on the Côte de Sury en Vaux. Aged on lees in tank and demi-muids, this cuvée offers an intense aromatic profile and pronounced minerality. It can easily age for 5 years or more and will pair well with white meats in sauce, escargots, or cooked cheeses.

Also in white, Les Anges Lots brings out the best from old massal-selection vines planted on Kimmeridgian marl. Aged on lees in wooden tanks and demi-muids for a year, it offers a floral and fruity nose (quince, pear, white flowers) as well as a rich, concentrated, and perfectly balanced palate. Ideal with foie gras, scallops, or fish in sauce!

Finally, the red À Nicolas is an exceptional Pinot noir from the limestone Morello cherry soils of the locality "Les Garennes" and is aged in demi-muids for one year. The aromas evoke black cherry, spices, as well as a very delicate oakiness. The body is concentrated and the tannins are present yet refined. A bottle to let age for a few years in the cellar to reveal all its complexity! Pair with red meats in sauce or chocolate depending on the vintage.
