Collection: Purchase Carignan wines

Find on this page all the wines made entirely or partially from the Carignan grape variety. Originally from Spain (from the town of Cariñena in the province of Zaragoza) and arriving in France during the Middle Ages, this grape variety, despite its great interest, has often been criticized in the past because the excessively high yields practiced by winemakers did not do it justice. A Mediterranean grape variety par excellence, Carignan loves the sun and is therefore well established in the south of France: Languedoc-Roussillon in particular but also Provence (Côtes-de-Provence, Palette etc.) or southern Rhône Valley are its preferred terroirs.Of a tannic nature, they present aromas of ripe red and black fruits, as well as spicy notes (garrigue, pepper, etc.). It is rarely vinified alone (even if this can produce excellent wines) and is therefore often blended with other grape varieties. In cooking, its pairing with red meats and game is a hit!
