The wine : The rosé from Domaine Tempier stands out as a benchmark of the Bandol AOC. Mainly made from Mourvèdre, the emblematic grape variety of the appellation, it is distinguished by its depth and aromatic richness. Unlike light and fleeting rosés, it indeed reveals a beautiful substance and a pronounced structure. On the nose, this cuvée reveals aromas of fleshy red fruits as well as notes of citrus and flowers, enhanced by a spicy and mineral touch. On the palate, the texture is full and silky, supported by a perfectly balanced freshness. The finish, both pure and indulgent, elegantly extends the tasting experience. A true gastronomic rosé, it pairs just as well with grilled fish as with more elaborate Mediterranean dishes. The estate : Iconic property of Provence, the Tempier estate is one of the pioneers who enabled the creation of the Bandol appellation in 1941. The Peyraud family and Daniel Ravier, the estate manager, make the most of their 60 hectares, composed of Mourvèdre (over 40 hectares) as well as Grenache noir, Cinsault, Carignan, and Syrah. The 5 hectares of white are divided among the Clairette variety (65%), Ugni Blanc, Bourboulenc, Marsanne, and Rolle. The estate has an exceptional heritage of very old vines, allowing for the production of three iconic cuvées: La Migoua, La Tourtine, and Cabassaou. Red wines as well as rosés and whites here are of impressively consistent quality and deserve the full attention of enthusiasts.
