The wine: What a slap in the face this 1985 vintage is! This natural sweet red wine underwent oxidative aging outdoors for 1 year in demijohn followed by 27 years (!) in oak barrels. The result is a unique vintage with a tiled color where aromas of prune and jammed black fruits mingle with notes of mocha, cocoa, dried fig, nuts and pepper in sublime balance. A bottle to enjoy with blue-veined cheeses or chocolate desserts. A treat of complexity and gourmandise !

The estate: Since its creation in 1816, the Mas Amiel has been the spearhead of the great natural sweet wines of the Roussillon region. Bought in 1999 by Olivier Decelle (also owner of Château Jean Faure in Saint-Émilion and the Decelle estate in Burgundy), the operation today covers 155 hectares with mainly schistose and clay-limestone soils. Since the beginning of the century, the vineyard has been converted to Organic Farming and constitutes an absolute reference in Languedoc-Roussillon.
