AOC Saint-Estèphe

Alongside its neighbor Pauillac, The Saint-Estèphe AOC is probably the appellation producing the most powerful and full-bodied red wines of the Bordeaux vineyard, delighting enthusiasts of age-worthy cuvées with full and intense flavors. Spanning 1,200 hectares in the north of the Médoc, the appellation includes 5 Grands Crus Classés. Its terroir is mainly composed of gravelly alluvium and its climate is very oceanic. Cabernet Sauvignon reigns supreme with 50% of the plantings, complemented by Merlot (45%) and other minor varieties such as Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot
