The AOC Fleurie is perhaps the most feminine cru of the Beaujolais, meaning that the wines are considered the most silky and delicate in the region. The appellation peaks between 220 and 430 meters in altitude and covers about 870 hectares. The grape variety Gamay is of course the master in these places where the terroir is particularly granite-rich. The name of the appellation evokes the beautiful springs making the surrounding landscapes particularly lush.
