Collection: Purchase AOC Côtes-du-Rhône wines

Created in 1937, The AOC Côtes-du-Rhône covers more than 30,700 hectares of vineyards between Vienne (south of Lyon) and Avignon. It is spread over 6 departments and 171 municipalities. Mainly renowned for its production of red wines (86%), the region also produces rosés (8%) and whites (6%). The climate here is strongly Mediterranean with hot and sunny days accompanied by the mistral. The Grenache is the predominant grape variety and is often accompanied by Syrah and Mourvèdre. On the white side, 80% of the grape variety comes from Grenache blanc, mainly complemented by Clairette, Bourboulenc, Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier. Several types of soils are present, including clay-limestone, rolled pebbles, and sandy soils. Finally,  the AOC Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages highlights 95 communes (8,000 hectares), all located in the southern part of the vineyard, offering more qualitative terroirs. Of these 95 villages, 38 can even be mentioned in addition to the appellation on the bottle. This latter appellation produces 98% red wines.
