AOC Bandol

Created in 1941, the Bandol AOC covers 1,500 hectares to the east of Marseille, on the Mediterranean coast in the heart of Provence. A true natural amphitheater, the appellation is structured in restanques (terraces) shaped by generations of winemakers who have succeeded one another here. The  soils are mainly siliceous-limestone and the area enjoys an impressive 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, allowing for great richness and complexity in the wines. For red and rosé cuvées, mourvèdre is the emblematic grape variety and may be complemented by grenache and cinsault.In white, Clairette, Ugni blanc and Bourboulenc are the main grape varieties and can be blended with  Sauvignon, Marsanne, Rolle and Sémillon. The Tempier estate  presented here is a historic property in the region, at the very origin of the AOC’s creation. Its wines are remarkably precise and profound and should not be missed under any circumstances!
