Malbec

Find on this page all the wines made entirely or partly from the Malbec grape variety. Also known as Côt, this grape variety originates from the Southwest of France and is today the flagship grape variety of the AOC Cahors, where it expresses itself beautifully thanks to the region's limestone terroir. It can also be found in Bordeaux (notably on the right bank) as well as in other appellations of the southwest (Bergerac, Pécharmant, Montravel, etc.), Languedoc, and even the Loire Valley. Internationally, it is very  present in Argentina, which is the world's leading producer, and to a lesser extent in Chile.Malbec is capable of producing wines with ripe, smooth fruitiness when vinified gently, but it generally expresses itself  with a beautiful tannic potential  featuring notes of dark fruits and spices. Of course, it is also capable of producing wines suitable for very long aging.
