The wine : La Fage is undoubtedly one of Cosse Maisonneuve's finest expressions of Malbec. Crafted from old vines planted on the limestone slopes of Cahors, this cuvée combines depth, freshness and elegance with remarkable precision. The nose opens with aromas of blackberry, plum and violet, followed by notes of graphite, black pepper, liquorice and cocoa. Its 18-month barrel ageing is beautifully integrated, adding depth and complexity without ever overshadowing the fruit. On the palate, the wine impresses with its velvety texture, finely sculpted tannins and outstanding balance. Richly concentrated yet never heavy, it is lifted by a vibrant mineral freshness that carries through to a long, refined finish. While already captivating after a little time in a decanter, La Fage will continue to develop beautifully over several years in the cellar. A magnificent wine from Southwest France, perfect alongside rib of beef, duck breast or a rack of lamb.
