AOC Listrac-Médoc

With 700 hectares, the Listrac-Médoc AOC is the smallest in the Médoc. Created in 1957, it is located inland and borders the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation. Listrac-Médoc also has as prestigious neighbors Margaux further south and Saint-Julien to the north. The terroirs here are composed of gravel but also clay-limestone and allow the expression of wines with more freshness than in the surrounding AOCs. The merlot is predominant here, adapting particularly well to this type of soil, and is accompanied by the usual cabernet-sauvignon, cabernet-franc. A number of Crus Bourgeois (such as Château Saransot-Dupré) are present in the area, rewarding the work of the region's winegrowers as well as the high quality of their wines.
