The IGP Coteaux de l'Ardèche is a very large appellation covering 7,500 hectares between Ardèche and Gard. It is a land of contrasts, with mountains to the west, plateaus, and valleys. The garrigue shapes the landscapes, and the soils are very diverse, though mainly clay-limestone. The main grape varieties for red wines are Merlot, Grenache, and Cinsault, while Grenache Blanc, Viognier, and Chardonnay make up most of the white wine production. In the north of the IGP, the vineyards benefit from a temperate climate, while in the south, heat and drought are key features, producing rich and generous wines. This is another beautiful appellation where you can discover some wonderful gems at very attractive prices!
