A living heritage at the heart of the Madiran AOC

The Brumont family vineyards embody the quintessence of wines from the Madiran appellation and the Pacherenc AOC. Thanks to meticulous work carried out on each plot, the teams produce red wines that are rich in fruit and substance, as well as elegant and smooth white wines.

From a terroir perspective, both estates benefit from a temperate oceanic climate, with a significant temperature range that promotes grape ripening. Located on terraces of Pyrenean gravel, the terroir of Château Montus is rich in rolled pebbles, similar to those found in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. These highly draining soils force the vines to root deeply, resulting in powerful and full-bodied wines.

A few kilometers away, the Château Bouscassé rests on clay-limestone soils, cooler and deeper, offering a more gradual ripening and wines that are structured but with greater finesse, elegance, and balance. Here, Tannat becomes more supple, with notes of red fruits, blond tobacco, and a more approachable texture. Château Montus generally impresses with its controlled power, while Château Bouscassé is more appealing for its subtlety.

Exceptional cuvées

At the pinnacle of excellence from Vignobles Brumont are the great cuvées of Château Montus and Château Bouscassé, true icons of Madiran. The Montus XL, produced only in the greatest vintages, is a rare and powerful cuvée made from 100% Tannat, grown on the deep gravel soils of the Montus terroir. This exceptional wine, aged for a long time in new barrels, impresses with its concentration, massive structure, and remarkable aging potential.It develops over time complex aromas of ripe black fruits, spices, graphite, and a mineral freshness that is the hallmark of great terroirs.

On the Château Bouscassé side, the “Vieilles Vignes” cuvée represents the other great face of Brumont excellence. From century-old Tannat plots planted on clay-limestone soils, this wine stands out for its refined intensity, aromatic depth, and an almost Burgundian elegance despite its southwestern power. The texture is velvety, the tannins perfectly integrated, and notes of black fruits, cocoa, and blond tobacco intertwine in a long and noble finish.
