The wine : Montus Blanc, in AOC Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh, is a wine that impresses with its great aromatic richness. Made from Petit Courbu, the emblematic grape variety of the appellation known for its finesse and expressiveness, this cuvée reveals beautiful fruity aromas of pear, peach, apricot, and citrus, complemented by a delicate exotic touch of mango and pineapple. The palate is ample, generous, and marked by extended aging in barrels that brings roundness, buttery notes, and perfectly integrated vanilla nuances. A white wine of character, offering superb pairings with poultry, river fish, cheeses, or foie gras. An absolute favorite !

The estate : Alain Brumont needs no introduction ! An iconic figure of the Madiran appellation, he has managed in 40 years to elevate his estates to the top of the South-West region and highlight the incredible potential of the local Tannat grape variety.

It all began in 1979 when he inherited the family's 17 hectares of Château Bouscassé. Then, in the early 1980s, he acquired Château Montus and met Baron Philippe de Rothschild at Château Mouton-Rothschild (Grand Cru Classé of the Pauillac AOC) : it was a turning point. Particularly inspired by their exchanges, he now openly displays his vision of producing great wines in Madiran, an appellation then mainly known for its rustic wines.

The first vintage of Château Montus in 1982 caused a sensation : the press praised the work accomplished while the French and international markets discovered a noble, powerful wine with definite aging potential. Since then, the man has never stopped searching for and selecting the best terroirs of his native region. Today, heading up 250 hectares, the Brumont Vineyards continue to be an absolute reference throughout the South-West, and Alain, although still involved, has now handed over the reins of the estate to his son-in-law Antoine Veiry. Discover their magnificent cuvées here, you won't regret it !
