The AOC Patrimonio covers approximately 450 hectares and is located in northern Corsica. Created in 1968, it is the first appellation of the island to have been officially recognized. The vineyard is protected from the Sirocco by the surrounding mountains and grows on clay-limestone but also schistose and granitic soils. The Niellucciu grape variety is very predominant and must be present at least 90% in red wines and 75% in rosés, the latter can be supplemented by the varieties Sciacarellu and Grenache. In white, Vermentino (or Rolle) is the only authorized grape variety. The wines produced are among the best in Corsica, expressing for the reds notes of red and black fruits as well as beautiful spices and aromas of garrigue. The whites stand out for their beautiful minerality and floral and fruity aromas. Finally, the rosés are very fresh and lively delicacies, providing a lot of pleasure.
