Smooth and supple wines

Smooth wines are highly appreciated for their light and easy character. Whether they are red, white, or rosé, these wines indeed stand out for their finesse and their delicate aroma. These are particularly appreciated for accompanying light meals or for being enjoyed simply for the pleasure of drinking an accessible wine, especially as an aperitif.

Supple red wines have few tannins. Thus, Burgundy and its famous grape variety Pinot Noir often serve as the absolute reference for this type of wine. The vintages produced from this variety are indeed renowned for their delicacy, fruity aromas, and delicate texture. Please note, however, that depending on the designation and the winemaker's method of vinification, Pinot Noir can also create powerful and deep wines, although never matching the tannic intensity of certain Bordeaux.      

Furthermore, some red wines from Loire made from Pinot noir as well as  Cabernet-franc  are also appreciated for their fresh and easy-drinking character, just like some reds from Alsace or the delicious  Gamays from Beaujolais.

On the white wine side, the Loire Valley is famous for its smooth and refreshing whites, particularly in the Muscadet appellation. Some Chenin from Anjou-Saumur or fine Sauvignon from Sancerre and its surroundings also fall into this category.  

Finally, most of the  rosé wines  produced are also focused on freshness, similar to almost all of those from the AOC Côtes-de-Provence, generally expressing light notes of citrus and red fruits as well as a certain minerality.
