AOC Grés de Montpellier

The Grés de Montpellier AOC is a wine appellation located around the city of Montpellier, within the  Languedoc-Roussillon region. Established in 2003, it covers approximately 1,000 hectares of vineyards and is renowned for its high-quality red wines. The Grés de Montpellier terroir is characterized by clay-limestone soils and rolled gravel, as well as a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers, ideal for viticulture. The main grape varieties used here are Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Carignan, which together produce powerful, generous, and elegant wines.
