The AOC Puligny-Montrachet is located within the Côte de Beaune and covers 210 hectares, planted with more than 99% of the chardonnay grape variety. 43% of the vineyard is classified as Premier Cru (17 climates), proving the very high quality of the soils as well as the exceptional exposures of the area. The soils here are clay-limestone and the village of Puligny-Montrachet is located between Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet. The white wines are very often characterized by a strong minerality, delighting enthusiasts of the genre.Magnificent and renowned estates like that of Alain Chavy wonderfully express intense and racy Chardonnays with a long-lasting finish on the palate.
