AOC Puligny-Montrachet

The Puligny-Montrachet AOC is located within the Côte de Beaune and covers 210 hectares, planted with over 99% Chardonnay grapes. 43% of the vineyard is classified as Premier Cru (17 climats), demonstrating the outstanding quality of the soils as well as the exceptional exposures of the area. The soils here are clay-limestone and the village of Puligny-Montrachet is located between Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet. The white wines are very often characterized by a pronounced minerality, delighting enthusiasts of the style. Magnificent and renowned estates such as Alain Chavy  express to perfection intense and distinguished Chardonnays with a long, lingering finish on the palate.
