The wine : Château Meyney is indisputably one of the best unclassified growths of the Médoc. On a steady rise for over 15 years, this is an estate with a remarkable terroir that offers us here a truly great vintage. Endowed with noble tannins and built for aging, this nectar displays a beautiful power thanks to its aromas of ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry, plum) accompanied by delicious notes of vanilla, tobacco, and roasting. An iconic Saint-Estèphe that will evolve wonderfully over the years!

The estate : The origins of Château Meyney date back to the 17th century, when the Fathers of the Feuillants Convent made the first plantings. With the Revolution, the estate passed into the hands of the Luetkens family before being acquired in 1918 by Désiré Cordier. The property remained in the family until 2004 but, due to financial difficulties, was eventually sold to Crédit Agricole through the company CA Grands Crus. Since then, a major restructuring plan has been undertaken and the wines have only improved. Neighboring Montrose, the 51-hectare single-block vineyard benefits from an exceptional terroir of gravel with a thick vein of blue clay in the subsoil, just like at Pétrus! A place where Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (30%), and Petit Verdot (10%) thrive beautifully. Here is a Saint-Estèphe gem that has regained its former glory!
