The wine : Château Meyney stands out as one of the most remarkable estates in the Médoc. The property indeed benefits from an exceptional gravel terroir, giving rise to wines of great and consistent quality. The estate’s great wine presented here captivates with its elegant power and harmonious structure. The whole is supported by fine and noble tannins, perfectly suited for excellent aging. The nose opens with an intense bouquet of ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry, plum), enriched with refined notes of vanilla, tobacco, and roasting. The palate, ample and generous, reveals a beautiful length and a silky texture, promising a remarkable evolution in the cellar. An emblematic Saint-Estèphe, both powerful and refined, which will delight lovers of great red wines capable of reaching their peak over time.

The estate : Château Meyney traces its origins back to the 17th century, when the Fathers of the Feuillants Convent planted the first vines there. At the time of the Revolution, the property passed into the hands of the Luetkens family, before being acquired in 1918 by Désiré Cordier. Remaining in the family until 2004, it was then sold to Crédit Agricole via the company CA Grands Crus. Since then, an extensive restructuring program has been implemented, and the quality of the wines has continued to improve. Neighboring the famous Château Montrose, the 51-hectare vineyard, planted in a single block, benefits from an exceptional terroir: deep gravel combined with a thick vein of blue clay in the subsoil, comparable to that of great terroirs such as Pétrus. This unique soil offers ideal conditions for the expression of the grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (30%), and Petit Verdot (10%) thrive here with power and elegance. An iconic Saint-Estèphe ready to captivate lovers of great red wines.
