The wine : A noble and very reliable value of the Pauillac AOC, the Grand Cru Lynch-Moussas reveals superb aromatic complexity on tasting. Very elegant notes of leather, cedar, and cigar box blend harmoniously with aromas reminiscent of roasting (coffee) as well as spices (pepper, licorice, eucalyptus) and black fruits (plum, blackberry). The estate : Founded in 1610, Château Lynch-Moussas is a historic estate in the Pauillac appellation. Appointed 5th Grand Cru Classé in 1855, it has been the Castéja family who have watched over this Bordeaux icon for more than a century. Today, with 62 hectares in the Pauillac and Haut-Médoc AOCs, the vineyard is planted with 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot. Both grape varieties thrive on remarkable soils composed of gravel and clayey sands. The property also borders many other parcels of Médoc Grands Crus Classés, such as Châteaux Latour, Lynch-Bages, and Pichon-Longueville, demonstrating the exceptional terroir of Lynch-Moussas.
