The wine: This large format Pomerol from the Leydet family is a elegant and delicious nectar with silky tannins. The palate is in fact here particularly charming thanks to a floral touch seductive (violet), deep fruit aromas red and black (cherry, blackberry) as well as a velvety texture. A melted woodiness and a slightly spicy aspect finally contribute to the beautiful complexity of this cuvée. A high-flying Pomerol which can be appreciated from its relative youth but also improves in the cellar over several years!

The estate: Taken over by the Leydet family in 1962, the Château de Valois has been managed since 1996 by Fréderic, now at the head of 8 hectares converted to Organic Farming since the 2015 vintage. Growing on a sandy terroir and fine gravel, the estate produces wines of great finesse that are accessible in their relative youth but also capable of long aging. Note that the family also owns an 8-hectare estate classified as Grand Cru in AOC Saint-Émilion. A discreet and high quality house!
