Our opinion on the wines from Domaine Fabrice Gasnier

The range from Domaine Fabrice Gasnier currently consists of 9 wines, mainly reds made from Cabernet Franc but also two white wines from Chenin, a rosé, as well as two sparkling wines.

For you, we have selected 3 cuvées that perfectly reflect the terroir and personality of Chinon wines and those from the Loire.

First of all, Les Graves, the estate’s flagship red wine, is a Chinon made from 100% Cabernet Franc, grown on gravelly and limestone soils. Carefully vinified in concrete vats and aged on fine lees, it charms with its freshness, vibrant fruit and supple structure. Accessible and easy to drink, it perfectly embodies the indulgent and immediate style of expressive Chinons. It’s a perfect bottle to share with friends and offers great pleasure from the very first years!

More ambitious, the Chinon Signature represents the top of the range of the estate.From very old Cabernet Franc vines (70 to 85 years old), it draws its complexity from clay-silica soils resting on limestone. The vinification is long and meticulous, with twelve months of aging in oak barrels. The result is a deep, silky wine, with generous body and a complex bouquet combining black fruits, spices, and melted wood. Both powerful and elegant, it can be enjoyed after a few years of cellaring, but already reveals its potential with a fine cut of meat or sophisticated cuisine.

Finally, on the white side, Le Clos de la Cure is a true gem. This rare cuvée, made from 100% Chenin Blanc, brilliantly expresses the finesse and minerality of this grape variety. Aged on lees in tanks to preserve the purity of the fruit, this cuvée offers great freshness, with citrus, floral, and slightly saline notes.Dry and taut, it is perfectly suited as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to fish, seafood, or goat cheeses. 

These three cuvées, each in a different style, illustrate all the expertise of Fabrice Gasnier and his commitment to a sincere and respectful biodynamic viticulture.
