Tempranillo

Meaning "early" due to its early ripening, this variety originating from Spain is the star of the famous appellations Rioja and Ribera del Duero. It is also known by other names such as Tinto del Pais or Tinta Roriz in Portugal. Considered one of the noblest grape varieties, Tempranillo adapts to different terroirs but prefers above all sunny regions. It is characterized by low acidity, strong tannic power, and a remarkable capacity for aging. Its aromatic profile develops aromas of ripe red and black fruits, chocolate notes, and a touch of leather as it ages.
