The AOC Costières de Nîmes is located in the very south of the Rhone vineyards, on the edge of Provence. Growing over 3,230 hectares, it produces a majority of red wines (50%) and rosés (43%) as well only a few white wines (7%). The soils are mainly made up of pebbles as well as sands. This very draining soil allows in particular to evacuate excess water during certain violent rainy episodes. The climate is hot and dry but tempered by sea breezes as well as thermal amplitudes between day and night to preserve the freshness of the grapes. Syrah is the king grape variety, representing 80% of the grape variety and is complemented by Grenache and mourvedre. The whites are mainly made from the grenache blanc, roussanne and marsanne grape varieties and are complemented by varieties such as bourboulenc, clairette, vermentino or even viognier. Château Beaubois is one of the spearheads of this beautiful appellation that is too often overlooked and cultivates its vines biodynamically, with the purest respect for its terroirs .
