AOC Vouvray

The Vouvray AOC is located slightly east of Tours and covers more than 2,200 hectares, planted exclusively with the Chenin grape variety. This magnificent appellation produces not only  dry, off-dry, and sweet white wines but also delicious sparkling wines made using the traditional method, as in Champagne. The soils here are clay-limestone and the climate is oceanic with continental influence. The wines can be very age-worthy, and some sweet bottles can easily be cellared for several decades. The same goes for dry white wines, which have beautiful acidity as well as lovely aromatic finesse.Here is a magnificent Loire appellation, enhanced by the work of the François and Julien Pinon estate that you absolutely must discover!
