The wine : The Marie-Louise cuvée (so named in honor of Renaud Bodillard's great-grandmother) is a delicious, full-bodied Gamay from old vines (50 to 75 years old). The aromatic profile develops on intense red and black fruits as well as elegant woody and vanilla notes, giving a beautiful complexity. Here is a characterful Morgon with a very lovely aromatic depth and offering an excellent value for money!

The estate : Winemakers for 7 generations, the Bodillard family now owns 14 hectares spread over 7 villages between Beaujolais and Mâconnais. Some cuvées are already certified Organic Farming and all will be in the coming years. The diversity of plots allows the estate to cover a wide diversity of soils (granite sands, schist, etc.) and thus to produce wines with varied characters. The plots are 95% south-facing and the vinification of the reds follows the Beaujolais method (carbonic maceration) to bring out a vibrant fruit. Renaud Bodillard offers cuvées with simple, easy-drinking fruit as well as deep and complex wines capable of aging for several years, even decades, in the cellar.
