The wine: The cuvée Nuance by Jérôme Arnoux is a delicious blend of Chardonnay and Savagnin making a superb introduction for anyone who would like to later try the joys of Vin Jaune. Indeed, while the Chardonnay is vinified here in the classic way in large wooden vats, the Savagnin is vinified under flor, in the style of a Vin Jaune for more than two years. The result is a wine that presents on the attack fruity aromas of citrus and peach, while the oxidative markers appear in the mid-palate and finish with notes of walnut, hazelnut, and curry. The set is very well balanced, indulgent and will make an ideal companion for matured Comté cheese, white meats and creamy fish dishes, or even exotic cuisine!

The estate: Jérôme Arnoux is a well-known figure in the Jura region.The native of Montigny-lès-Arsures indeed has more than 25 years of winemaking experience behind him. After having been the right-hand man of Stéphane Tissot, he managed the Château de Chavannes and then took care of the wines at the Caveau de la Reine Jeanne. An impressive résumé that was missing just one line: his own. This has been accomplished since 2015, the year he began cultivating his 17 hectares of vines independently. The conversion to organic farming is underway and simply aligns with the principles already established in the work carried out at the estate: indigenous yeasts, minimal intervention, etc. The wines produced perfectly express the richness of the Jura terroirs and the exceptional winemaking talent of Jérôme.
