The wine : Signature is a single-plot cuvée from old vines over 70 years old, offering a concentrated Cabernet Franc with a silky texture. On the palate, it develops intense dark fruits, beautiful spices, and displays lovely amplitude as well as great length. A fine Loire bottle with appreciable character in its youth, but also capable of improving for more than 10 years in the cellar!

The estate : Located in Cravant-les-Côteaux, at the heart of one of the finest terroirs of the Chinon appellation, Fabrice Gasnier has been at the head of the eponymous estate since 1990, which has belonged to his family since the early 20th century. Covering 35 hectares of clay-limestone, siliceous, and gravel soils, all the cuvées have been certified Biodynamic Agriculture (Demeter) since 2008. More than 90% of the production is dedicated to reds, with Cabernet Franc as the sole grape variety. Harvesting is done by hand and vinification is mainly carried out in concrete vats, with some aging in oak barrels. The purity and depth of the fruit in the family’s wines demonstrate the impeccable management of the estate’s vines, producing extremely healthy grapes.
