Domaine Philippe Naddef - Grand Cru Mazis-Chambertin 2018
Low stock : 5 restant(s)
Key words: Complexity / Finesse / Elegance / Keep
Wine: The Grand Cru Mazis-Chambertin draws its name of the small houses (the Mazis) formerly present in this climate. This magnificent plot, the northernmost of Gevrey-Chambertin, produces powerful wines of great complexity. The Naddef house gives a perfect example here with this cuvée offering a beautifully silky mouthfeel, ample and concentrated. The notes of black fruits are velvetyand coat the mouth in a superb finish full of freshness. If you are patient enough to leave it in the cellar for a few years, it will reveal all its greatness thanks to delicious tertiary aromas (humus, mushroom, earthy notes ). A rare wine for a great moment!

The domain: Rlearning in 1983 the 2.5 hectares of his grandfather, Philippe Naddef managed his own domain brilliantly for 39 years. Since 2022, it is indeed his son, Michel, who has taken over and is now at the head of the 6 hectares (5 of Pinot Noir and 1 of Chardonnay) planted on different appellations such as Marsannay, Fixin or Gevrey-Chambertin. Several plots of the family are classified Premier Cru and the Naddefs also have a few rows of vines within the famous Grand Cru Mazis-Chambertin. Michel Naddef is now committed to perpetuating the family heritage while gradually adding his personal touch thanks to finer ageing, giving finesse and delicacy to the wines made.
