The wine : The Grand Cru Mazis-Chambertin takes its name from the small houses (the Mazis) that once stood on this terroir. This magnificent plot, the northernmost in Gevrey-Chambertin, produces wines of power and great complexity. The brand Naddef provides a perfect example here with this cuvée offering a magnificently silky, full-bodied and concentrated palate. The black fruit notes are velvety and coat the palate in a superb finish full of freshness. If you are patient enough to let it age in the cellar for a few years, it will then reveal all its greatness through delicious tertiary aromas (humus, mushroom, earthy notes). A rare wine for a great occasion!

The estate : Retaking in 1983 the 2.5 hectares from his grandfather, Philippe Naddef successfully managed his own estate for 39 years. Since 2022, it is his son, Michel, who has taken over and now heads the 6 hectares (5 of Pinot Noir and 1 of Chardonnay) planted across various appellations such as Marsannay, Fixin, or Gevrey-Chambertin. Several family plots are classified as Premier Cru and the Naddef family also owns a few rows of vines within the famous Grand Cru Mazis-Chambertin. Michel Naddef is now committed to preserving the family legacy while gradually adding his personal touch through more refined aging, bringing finesse and delicacy to the wines produced.
