The wine : From vines planted at the end of the 1970s, this Gevrey-Chambertin highlights the terroir of the "Au Vellé" climate. Facing east and growing on stony soils mainly composed of clay, this plot is adjacent to the Premier Crus Champeaux and Les Cazetiers. This delicious cuvée from Domaine Marchand-Grillot offers a Pinot Noir of great grace combining elegance and charm. On the palate, an infusion of red fruits (cherry, strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant) is presented, carried by a charming texture. Earthy notes and very fine oak highlight the whole with mastery. A Gevrey-Chambertin full of delicacy that finishes with a very beautiful length. Grandiose!

The estate : If both the Marchand and Grillot families had a long winemaking tradition before 1950, it was during that vintage and through a marriage that their strengths were definitively united to form Domaine Marchand-Grillot. Today, brother and sister Étienne and Marion, together with their father Jacques, oversee a 12-hectare vineyard mainly spread over Gevrey-Chambertin but also on Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny. The family philosophy is characterized by bio-sourced viticulture, limiting intervention both in the vineyard and in the cellar. No synthetic pesticides or herbicides are used, and the doses of added sulfites are very moderate. The winemaking process is also very gentle, bringing out the full potential of each terroir. Finesse and elegance are the key words here!
