The estate : Located in Morey-Saint-Denis, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, Domaine Georges Lignier et Fils is a family-owned estate founded at the beginning of the 20th century.Since 2003, Benoît Stehly, great-grandson of Georges Lignier, has continued the work begun by previous generations, focusing on attentive vineyard management and precise winemaking. The estate now cultivates around 17 hectares, divided into about fifty plots and 17 appellations. Its holdings cover several major terroirs of the Côte de Nuits, from Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis to the Grands Crus Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint-Denis, Charmes-Chambertin, and Bonnes-Mares. Harvested by hand and carefully sorted, the grapes may be vinified with a moderate proportion of whole clusters depending on the vintage. The wines are then aged judiciously in oak and bottled at the estate without filtration. This approach gives rise to precise and profound Burgundies, marked by the purity of the fruit, the elegance of their texture, and a faithful expression of each terroir.
