The wine : Les Hauts de Husseau from Domaine de la Taille aux Loups perfectly illustrates the purest expression of Chenin on the terroirs of Montlouis-sur-Loire. Sourced from hillsides with soils rich in flint and clay, this wine is distinguished by great finesse, brought by brilliant mineral tension and a beautiful aromatic complexity. You will find notes of pear, citrus, apple, and white flowers, supported by a chiselled palate. As is customary with the Blot family, barrel aging is particularly meticulous, enhancing the whole with a finely buttery texture as well as notes of vanilla and toasted bread. This terroir cuvée stands out for its more taut style compared to its sister from Clos de Mosny, the latter offering greater breadth and richness on the palate.

The estate : Located in the heart of the Montlouis-sur-Loire appellation, the Domaine de la Taille aux Loups is one of the jewels of the Loire Valley.Brought to excellence by Jacky Blot, the estate has been under the management of his son Jean-Philippe since 2023, following the unfortunate passing of Jacky. The vineyard covers 45 hectares, entirely dedicated to the Chenin grape variety. The vines are rooted in diverse terroirs, composed of clay-limestone soils and sand, giving the wines remarkable purity and complexity. Work is carried out with respect for nature, using an organic approach and manual harvesting, ensuring an authentic expression of the terroir. The estate is particularly renowned for its exceptionally refined dry white wines, as well as its elegant sparkling wines and distinguished sweet wines, all with impressive aging potential.
