The wine : This delicious second white wine from the illustrious Château Smith Haut Lafitte is a true favorite! Composed of 100% Sauvignon, this cuvée nevertheless departs from the usual characteristics of this grape variety and stands out for its  remarkable aromatic richness. The texture here is enveloping and creamy while the aromatics develop on notes of butter, vanilla, and oak. A ripe fruitiness is also present, evoking peach, pear as well as a touch of citrus on the finish. A great white wine complex and indulgent with a lingering finish!

The estate : Since 1990, Daniel and Florence Cathiard have managed this absolute reference of Pessac-Léognan that is the Château Smith Haut Lafitte. And what a journey it has been! While today the estate’s wines are among the very best in the region, the vineyards were almost abandoned at the time of the couple’s acquisition! Having detected the fantastic potential of this gravelly terroir, the Cathiards have indeed succeeded in radically transforming the estate. Today, the vineyard covers 80 hectares (68 red and 12 white), officially certified organic since the 2019 vintage, allowing the production of wines of absolutely magnificent finesse and complexity.
